Catholic Radio Grows

The Federal Communications Commission has approved Immaculate Heart Radio’s transaction to buy Los Angeles station KHJ AM 930. The transaction will close on November 1, and Los Angeles Archbishop Jose Gomez will “flip the switch” at a ceremony at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels on November 17.

Start-up costs for new Immaculate Heart Radio stations are funded by local Catholic communities; each station usually becomes fully listener-supported within two years of going on-air. The funding for this new station will be provided by potential listeners from the 289 parishes in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and other generous individuals from throughout the Immaculate Heart Radio Network listening area.

This new station will reach 15 million people in Southern California.
