Concert for Iraq Refugees

For centuries, Iraq was home to one of the largest Christian populations in the Middle East–but in recent years, Christians have been forced to leave their homes in order to flee violence and forced conversion to Islam. Now Christian refugees are struggling to build new lives.

To help these refugees, St. Luke and St. Thomas Syriac Orthodox are hosting an Ecumenical Benefit Concert for Christian Refugees in Iraq Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. (following the 5 p.m. Mass at St. Luke, 1980 Hillsdale Road, El Cajon). The concert features The Ecumenical Singers and Musicians From St. Thomas and St. Luke. Admission is free; free-will offering will wholly benefit Christian refugees in Iraq. You can also donate by leaving a check at the St. Luke parish office, made payable to The Church of St. Luke, with the memo, “Iraq Christian Refugees.”
