Dr. Alveda King: Saving Lives

Dr. Alveda King sees the pro-life movement as a continuation of the civil rights struggle—and she is coming to the San Diego area to explain what that means.

On March 26, Dr. King—the nice of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and daughter of the late civil rights activist Rev. A.D. King and his wife Naomi Barber King—comes to St. Michael’s Holy Family Center in Poway to explain how she, as a civil rights warrior, confronts abortion in today’s culture.

Additional speakers include Life Choices Director Liz Dubentzky and a Life Choices client who will give a personal testimony.

The evening will also include a featured screening of the new short pro-life film “Sing a Little Louder.”  Inspired by the true story of an elderly man who in his youth witnessed the horrors of the Jewish Holocaust from the pews of his Church, the movie provides a stunning message for the twenty-first century and a revelation of another genocide that exists today.

Dr. King currently serves as a Pastoral Associate and Director of African-American Outreach for Priests for Life and Gospel of Life Ministries.  She is also a voice for the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, sharing her testimony of two abortions, God’s forgiveness, and healing.
“Changing Lives, Saving Lives” will take place 7-9 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at St. Michael’s Holy Family Center (15546 Pomerado Rd., Poway, 92064). Click here to register.
