Lost Boys Walkathon

In 1983, when civil war broke out in Sudan, 27,000 orphaned children walked 1,000 miles to safety in Ethiopia. They became known as the Lost Boys of Sudan. Many died from starvation; others were eaten by crocodiles and lions. After spending nearly 2 decades in refugee camps, a few thousand Lost Boys were granted asylum in the United States.

On Saturday, April 14, 2018, St. Michael’s Catholic Church (15546 Pomerado Rd., Poway 92064) is holding its 4th annual walkathon to benefit The California Sudanese Lost Boys & Girls Foundation (CSLBGF), a non-profit that fosters community based assistance to The Lost Boys of Sudan living in San Diego County. The event begins at 9:30am.

The $25 registration fee includes a t-shirt, dessert, drinks, and entertainment. Beer tastings from AleSmith and food truck meals are available for purchase.

Please join the St. Michael’s community in “Sharing the Journey” with the CSLBGF and enjoy the company of family and friends.

Click here to register and here to download the sharable flyer.

We hope to see you there!
