Oaxaca Education Fund Walk

Join us May 26 for this fun 5K event, and your contributions to the Oaxaca Education Fund will benefit the children of migrant workers from Oaxaca, Mexico. 100% of funds assist the families of farm workers who worked in our area: we go to Oaxaca, purchase and deliver school supplies required for 1600 children in five villages, provide tuition assistance to 150 high school students, help 15 young people with college expenses, and contribute to the support of 27 orphaned or disabled children. Please help us to help the families of the men who for decades provided the stoop labor necessary to grow our fruits and vegetables.

Please join us in this walk, or sponsor someone who is walking! Invite your friends and colleagues to participate!

What: A 5K walk in Canyonside Park, 12350 Black Mt. Rd. , San Diego CA 92129

When: May 26, 2018.  8:30 a.m.

Where: We’ll start in Canyonside Park, behind ball field #4 (look for the pink pop-up!).

Why: We are helping the children of migrant workers who worked in our area stay in school in Mexico.

Suggested donation: $20. Children walk free. Checks should be payable to Friends of the Poor. Participants are invited to solicit sponsorships in any amount. All contributions are tax deductible; receipts will be provided upon request.
