Oaxaca Education Fund Walk

Join us April 22 for this fun 5K event, and your contributions to the Oaxaca Education Fund will benefit the children of migrant workers from Oaxaca, Mexico. Their fathers worked in the fields between Rancho Peñasquitos and Del Mar in San Diego. There is very little paid work in the mountains of Oaxaca, and parents must pay for uniforms, school supplies, and high school fees. Oaxaca Education Fund/Friends of the Poor provides school supplies to all the
children in grades K-12 in five villages in Oaxaca, purchasing the supplies in Mexico and distributing them to 1600 students with the help of local youth. OEF also enables 110 young people to stay in high school by assisting with their fees, and it helps support 24 children who are orphaned or disabled.

Please join us in this walk, or sponsor someone who is walking! Invite your friends and colleagues to participate!
