Privacy Policy

Policy Statement and the Office for Social Ministry respect visitor privacy and is committed to protecting it. Visitors can visit most pages on the website without identifying themselves or providing any personal information. However, if a visitor wishes to contact, the user will be asked to provide contact information and an email address.


Server Access Reports logs all accesses and events at its Web server and uses this information to generate periodic website statistics reports. These logs record the following information:

  • Internet Protocol (IP) Address of Visitor
  • Page(s) Visited
  • Time(s) Visited
  • Phrase typed into Search Engine before Visiting
  • Other information passed by your Web browser’s HTTP headers



We use a standard feature of browser software, called a “cookie,” to assign each visitor a unique, random number, a sort of “user ID” that resides on your computer. The cookie doesn’t actually identify the visitor, just the computer that a visitor uses to access our site. Unless you voluntarily identify yourself (through registration, for example), we won’t know who you are, even if we assign a cookie to your computer. The only personal information a cookie can contain is information you supply. A cookie can’t read unrelated data off your hard drive. Forwarding News Stories

If a visitor wishes to use the link from a news story on our site to forward the address of the story to someone else, the user will be asked to provide his email address and the email address of the person to send to. This information is used only to email a link to the story as requested, and does not keep or use the addresses thus provided.


Subscriptions and Downloads

If a visitor wishes to subscribe to updates for stories and occasional breaking news updates, or wishes to download the mobile app, the user will be asked to provide his email address. This information will be used to send the newsletter when issued, or an email providing the app for download. To terminate all emails from, the user may “unsubscribe.” After completing an unsubscribe request, the user’s email address will be removed from the mailing list and no further email contact from will be sent.
